Yahoo Answers is a great concept. I got some really great feedback to some sersious questions I had and I really enjoy helping others with their questions. As old as I am, you would think that the ugly comments left by some would just roll off my back. I try, but it really does bother me. I am disillusioned by my crazy beliefe that people are bascially good. I want to believe that. I am always amazed on how insensitive people can be. Am I going to let it ruin my day? No. This will just propell me to try harder to be a better person.

Don't let it get to you. It is just the web, not a real life.

You shouldn't have to put up with abuse. The only thing you can do is report those abusers and move on.
You're right to think that most people are good. The people that spout out hateful nonsense are too cowardly to do it to someone's face most of the time, and the rest are a concern and danger to us. Those people are in the minority fortunately.
Being a better person and being kind to others while standing up for your own rights is really the best thing to do.
Stay strong!

Sorry. Don't let the few idiots ruin your concept of good. There are many good people on here.
Imagine what kind of person it takes to hide behind a computer all day and have nothing better to do than target the GLBT community...

You have to remember that most of the negative questions are coming from students in study hall. They are children and teenagers that have been fed opinions and have not matured enough to actually form their own stand on issues. I am certain that, as they age, they will regret their own words in this venue.
I was once one of them, as I was internally homophobic, now I have a wonderful wife. They may suffer from the same mental turmoil that we all faced before coming out and bashing may be the only way they can hope to vent the frustration that they are facing. I pity them myself, and I pray that they will eventually come to terms with their own sexuality, be it straight or not, and move on to healthy and emotionally fulfilling lives.

I believe people are basically neutral; good in some ways, bad in others. Unfortunately, we tend to take the good for granted unless it's major, so the bad stuff just gets more noticed.

Consider this Gregory, 2000+ years of persecution and murder and they still can't get rid of us, furthermore, we are flourishing in spite of them. We are Strong, We are Powerful, We are Fabulous!!!
p.s. Yes this is what I really look like.

Well, some people are just stupid biggots. Sadly there is no filter to block people on this site. I'm glad you aren't taking them to heart, and trying to rise above is awesome! :)
