I'm fairly adept in ways regarding certain martial art type kinds of movement. Since nothing in the way of legitimate martial arts schools is available where I am presently living, I have considered the possibility of enrolling in ballet classes for the purpose of improving my karate guy skills. I'm a little concerned about being the only male in a class of younger females who will probably think I'm gay.

I'm in ballet, (and i'm gay). But I know for a fact not all males in ballet are gay. In fact more are straight, it helps with balance, weight training and perseverance, and It's just great overall. Do it, it's fun, and you can show off your moves at the club! (Nothing like doin fouetes to get the party started!)

You will be absolutely amazed by what ballet can do for you. I took it up as a hobby and it is by far my favorite form of dance. Since you are into martial arts, you will find it very beneficial for muscle tone, balance, and best of all, peace of mind. Ballet is both a great toner and stress-reducer. And don't you worry a lick about what others think - I had guys in my classes and the only ones I thought were gay were the ones who actually were! ;) Girls can tell the difference between homo and hetero better tahn guys can! Go for it! You will not regret it.

I think ballet is an awesome idea to improve your skills.

No, girls in the class won't think you're gay. It is mostly ignorant people who know nothing about ballet and movement who decide to make fun of male dancers. I think they do it because they can't move and they are jealous of those men who can.

Football players get sent to ballet classes by thier coaches sometimes. So yeah...

Ice skating males study ballet. I've even seen football shorts where the grace of the players was almost balletic. Hang what everyone thinks and do it. Ballet will discipline your body in ways you've never even thought of and keep the discipline you
have developed through your martial arts.

I say, go for it. They'll learn soon enough you're not gay.

the key is not to look gay and don't talk gay. Don't be ashamed. A lot of guys dance. You probably will be the only guy in your class and chances are you'll have a special part. Just do your best. I'm glad your considering it!

you may have already seen this commercial but your situation reminded me of it lol.
