Is it wrong to help a brutalized community of people be safer? Is it wrong to take out someone who has used chemical weapons against his own people? Is it wrong to desire stability in a region where 3/5 of the total world supply of oil is located? Do you really think that a 35 year dictatorship can change to democracy in a year or two? What you are not thinking about is....do you want to fight them over there or down your street? If we don't take this stand in Iraq....every two bit terrorist on the planet will consider us weak and ripe for attack. OUR WORLD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. Al Qaeda has openly said they want to kill all non-Muslims and establish an Islamic World. Do you not believe what they say? Do you think Korea won't try to arm our enemies? Listen to Al Jezerrah for a few minutes...Iran talks about killing us all everyday, all day long. We would be hastening our own destruction if we cut and run from there now. Do the people who refuse to see that this is a crucial time for the US and it's allies and the entire world...think these people are going to go away, or not be a threat because we leave Iraq? You aren't keeping up with current events if you do.

I don't think it a fair question.
It focuses on recent actions.
Look back on the whole picture including the sadamn genocide.
The actions around the Gulf War and Invasion and our rescue of Kuwait. Remember the Iraqi's surrendering to CNN reporters.
They swore to overthrow sadamn and got slaughtered.
Also remember the UN ordered the retreat of free world forces.
( Carter or Clinton ? ) was forced to withdraw our troops.
Information from the Iraqi refuges and prisoners and many sources focused on weapons of mass destruction and AND the UN sanctioned invasion and this war.
I now see this war is now between the Iraqi Democratic government and racist murderers of islamic muslims.
But the war is now about Islam and their tribal cultures.
It is not even civil war It is a step back to 'Who is the crusaders now" and what a SHAME on every muslin.
Our troops are not the main focus but a withdrawal it will destabilize the cowardly police forces and their traitorous military.

clearly it should be a lesson to Con-jobs: if you're going to lie, don't get caught believing your own lies.
The best way out is to turn things over to a semi-competent Iraqi force. The rebels are doing a good job at undermining this effort, however.
The second-best way out is to phase out our forces with forces of other Arab nations. But that would take more outreach and political dancing than W's willing to do, and if the Cons allow a Dem in next, the Cons will attack any Dem who tries to do that.

No, the insurgents are like rats and roaches. We cannot possibly put enough troops in there to kill them all.
The solution is to force the Iraqis to start taking over themselves quickly. Then we withdraw gradually.

What the corporate, political and media establishment fear are the explosive social and political implications of growing popular revulsion over the crimes of US imperialism in Iraq and around the world, combined with mounting anger over relentless attacks on working people’s social conditions and democratic rights. The entire political system is being exposed and discredited before the eyes of the people. Such a process inevitably brings with it revolutionary consequences.

You think wrong. Tenet #1 of the republican is that the republican is always right, in spite of all evidence to the contrary. Tenet #2 is that if a republican is wrong, see #1.
Never underestimate the mindlessness of a brainwashed zealot.

'Your' president got us into the worst mess I've ever seen in my 67 years. I cannot believe what is happening to us. He has no plan to get us out or even a strategy that can work. Send theBush twins to Iraq and the

Most people. Unfortunately, not all. The problem is that it has now become a no-win situation. If it is true about history repeating itself, we will eventually have to cut our losses.

what do we do? we wait. We screwed ourselves going to
Iraq. It was unethical to go in the first place, but now it would be unethical to pull out. So we stay while our resources are steadily drained, and we have nothing left to invest, then we will be sitting ducks.
