I ride both depends on what I am doing that day.
I ride western if we are trail riding or working cattle or riding fence lines.
I ride english if I am in the arena and training for something, like dressage or jumping.
You can do dressage in a western saddle but you have so much less contact with the horse and it is much easier to jump in an english saddle.

I can ride both but I feel that I have a better seat in my English saddle than I do in a Western one.
That and the fact that I have to carry my saddle SEVERAL hundred feet from the house to the barn and that dang Western saddle gets too friggin' heavy!!!

I can ride both, too, but I prefer English. I feel like I have more contact with the horse when I ride English - it's more challenging. Western is fun too (hey, riding is riding, right?) but it is, in my opinion, a more relaxed style.

Both. I love showing Western and English. I love barrel racing, poles and trail riding, but I also love competing Hunter/Jumper.

I prefer Western. The discipline isn't as strict.
