Are you going to have a baby shower? If so I would wait until that is done before I actually buy something. I found that with my huge family I didn't need much plus I received so many gift cards that the baby was 3 months before I actually had to buy something out of my own pocket. You can go to a store like Babies R Us and they have checklists that you can go through and decide if you want it or not and have all your wants put on a registry. They will even give you invitations for the baby shower so that all your friends and family know you are registered. After that is all done then you can see if you still need anything. Good luck

Well since you are sure it's a girl. Then you need to buy all the girly stuff. Everything that is made for a girl. You need a bassinet ( you can buy a crib when he is like 3 months old). Or you can just by a crib and buy the bumper, sheets, blankets, and the mobile toy that goes on top. A nice size dresser to put your baby stuff in. Clothes like socks, shirts, mittens so she won't scracth herself, outfits and sleepwear. You need lots of bibs, recieveing blankets, bottles plastic or glass whichever you prefer, pacifer, booties, a sterilizer or you can just boil the bottles in a pot whichever you prefer. Suggestions a bottle warmer or a baby wipe warmer. Bath products you know shampoo, bathwash, rag and the usually. You will also need Q-tips and alcohol for the umbilical cord. A stroller and a carseat for when you leave the hospital. A bag to take with you to the hospital with everything you will need for you and the baby. You can get a changing table if you want. Lots of pampers and a diper disposal with the bags. Another thing hats their heads is very sentitive and a baby can easily catch a cold. Some toys to keep the baby opoucpied like a rattle or you can get a bouner to keep the baby in the one that vibrates or anyone you prefer and that is about it for now. You can buy a swing, highchair, walker and all those other things at a later time after the baby is born. You can also get books to read to the baby when she is fussy. Also good luck and congraluations!!!!!!!!

Why don't you register with a store that allows you to access your list online? That way, as the day approaches, you can see what you will not need to buy yourself. We ended up having to buy the larger items (crib, changing table, etc) but not the smaller stuff (car seat, bouncer, clothes, toys). We even got diapers and bottles at our shower. But, no reason not to have the essentials just in case:
*You will have to have a car seat to bring the
baby home (it's the law). A travel set will save you stress and money later (car seat and stroller set)
*Diapers
*Baby washclothes (atleast as a newborn - use warm washcloth instead of wipes)
*Zinc Oxide for diaper rash (don't use it all the time just when he's got a runny poo or existing rash) Too much creams and powders can cause a rash
*Light Blanket or two
*Onesies (Gerber has a 3 or 4 pack of white ones)
*Snap shirts (Gerber again)
*Socks
*Sheets for the crib or bassinet
*YOUR choice of bottles (you will find a favorite) unless you intend to always feed from the breast
*Baby thermometer
*Baby nasal syringe (the hospital may send one home with you)
*Saline nasal spray
*Blunt end scissors for nail clipping (they are easier than clippers). Get a good pair at the drug store.
Unless you don't have family and friends, you will get alot of other things given to you. Based on my experience, these are just what I would buy if I had another baby on the way.

Go to BabiesRus or Target and register! They give you a list to go by, which is a great starting point.
Points to ponder.
Where will the baby sleep? Crib, bassinet, in your bed in a sleeper, etc
Will you breastfeed exclusively and for how long?
Will you bottle feed from the start and fore go the breastfeeding?
How do you plan to feed an older child? High chair, booster seat, bouncy chair, etc?
How and where will you bathe the baby? at the sink, at the tub
How will you need to get the baby around? Car seat (i.e. people in larger cities such as NY may never need a car seat), stroller, etc.
You can register for clothes, but people are going to buy the close they like anyway.
You can register at these places on line and then print the list to go by if that helps.

Anything & everything! Are you having a shower?? People will give you lots of little stuff...do you have a crib? Get one that you can make into a first bed...a changing table? A stroller? A car seat (manditory in most states) DON"T get newborn sizes, they grow so fast...one piece sleepers are great. 'onesies' they snap under, ae great. Recieving blankets, if you will use disposable diapers, get some cloth diapers as spit up cloths, always keep a few clean ones with you! A fold up playpen? Wonderful for keeping the baby with you aroud the house or out. So much stuff...best of luck to you!

Just get some little sleepers for about 3-6 month size. They don't wear newborn stuff very long. Get some little onsies. Some little socks. One thing I found very helpful is cloth diapers. I used them for in case the baby vomited after eating. Bibs are not very helpful and kind of a pain. The cloth diapers are nice and big. I hope that helps a bit.

Congratulations!!
Apart from regular baby needs, a good thing to buy would be a small music box with a sweet song that you can hold to your tummy and play. If you start now, she will hear it. Then have someone play it as she's being born and while you hold her/nurse her the first time. That music box will be a calming influence whenever you play it throughout her infancy.
This really works and can be a blessing.
