I think America is a still a civilized nation. Yeah we have a rough past, but so do most other great nations. But one thing we do great is put our past behind us. Our greatest allies are Great Britain (revolutionary war), Germany (WWII), and Japan (WWII). Yeah we had rough relations with Indians, but that's what happens when two cultures that are vastly different converge (that really has nothing do do with today anyway). You ask if America is still a civilized nation, and yet you bring up our uncivilized past. It seems as if you think America was never civilized at all. So one can only assume that you don't know what you are talking about. We were attacked by terrorists, so naturally, we are not going to stand for that. We realized that terrorists and dictators were a threat to us and the world. Iraq was pretty messed up so we tried to fix it, for our well-being, and theirs. The way things are going there aren't exactly the way we wanted, but don't assault our reasons for our actions. It was and still is a just cause.

wow boy are you gravely mistaken and in need of English lessons as well.
We did not wipe out whole nations, admit-ably what we did to the Indians (native Americans) is wrong, but we did not wipe them out entirely. The slaves oh yes the slaves, it doesn't matter that there is more slavery happening in Africa than in any other time in history, but that's because its blacks owning blacks, that's OK right? We never supplied Saddam with the mustard gas he used to kill the Kurds.
might I suggest you read some real history.
and yes America is THE MOST CIVILIZED NATION

First of all, an usage in British English was to refer to natives of North America as 'Red Indians', though this is now an old fashioned usage and considered insulting. They are natives of North America.
The Europeans colonized the area after the first voyage of Christopher Columbus in 1492. British English, French and Spanish claimed or controlled part of the U.S. territory.
Some groups of people in America are anti-immigrants, and don't remember that they are in the U.S. because of immigration and invasion of territory; In contrast, they may applaud America's invasion to foreign territory.
With respect to the development of the country, U.S. is a civilized nation. I admit that there are some issues with respect to the government, but don't forget that government not only means President, it also means Governors, Mayors, Councilors, etc. We can't judge an entire country because of its President's actions... There are civilized people in America.

No, America's got a long way to go before it's civilized. But it is very technologically advanced. Uncivilized with high tech is a dangerous situation. More dangerous is the crazed fascists that have taken over the government. Pray for us. We need all the help we can get.

Many people who live here ARE civilized, but those in charge and many of their war-loving followers believe that for America to be great it must be a very MEAN and NASTY nation.
