You can tell some people are lying just because they opened their mouth. Others are more difficult, but their eyes and body language. Some people, though, are so good at it that it's impossible to tell.

Sometimes you can tell. Sometimes people are very good liars however.

Ways to tell through body languge:

They won't make eye contact. They look up and to the left. They touch their face (like scratch their nose or chin) or play with their hair while lying to you.

Yes. Watch their eyes. The brain's creativity is on the left side. If the person is lying and their eyes tend to look to the left or motions made from them tend to go to the left....bingo. Big fat liar.

Sure can. When you are talking to someone you must keep contact with the eyes. If the persons eyes move to the right or left while answering your questions...beware...they may me fibbing.
If they have a hard time focusing their eyes while talking to you that may me another warning. The eyes truly are the lamplight to the soul.

Yes. Most of the time they don't look at you in eyes and go on and on and keep adding to the story and you can just tell they are making it up.

Common sense helps. When someone makes up elaborate stories to explain something rather simple, it is a lie.

It's easier to tell if you know the person well, but you can also tell by a stranger's body language. Involuntary, minute reactions happen & if you're looking for them, you'll see these 'tells'.
