He will be a year old on Wednesday. He's been sick for a week now. I took him to the Dr the other day and they said it's just a common cold, runny nose, and cough, no fever or ear ache or sore throat. But he won't stop crying. He's constantly at least fussing if not screaming. It doesn't help to hold him, I've tried to give him food (in case hes hungry) but he doesn't want it, and he doesn't want his sippy cups either. (On, a side note, he is eating and drinking fine, its just that those don't help him to calm down)
I don't know what is wrong with him...he's NEVER been like this before...not even when he was an infant. What's wrong with him and what can I do?

I have considered the fact that he is teething....and I think it's a possibility...He already has 8 teeth...got them very early. I've gave him some infants tylenol and put baby orajel on his gums. I can't tell from looking in his mouth if he is or not like i could before...but the medicine hasn't seemed to help too much. I think if he's still like this tomorrow morning then I'm going to take him into the Dr again.

I'm going to go with the others and say that he may be teething. When they start cutting those back teeth, sometimes they have a harder time with those. I'm thinking my little one had a harder time cutting the back teeth and was a little more fussy.
Try some Tylenol infant drops or Motrin infant drops. You can also alternate them. This may help take the edge off and also help the baby to get some rest.
Good Luck.

At a year old, he could be teething on top of his cold. That would make anyone miserable. Try giving him some Infants Tylenol. Ice chips help too. I know it's not popular at his age but I still give my son a bottle when he needs soothing. Sippy cups just aren't the same.

I suggest you get an second opinion to make sure it is nothing else. But then again it could be that he is agrevated being that he has a cold. If he is doing everything he normally does then there is nothing really wrong with him. Do he ever play alot but now he just sits and cries all day? If your answer to that is yes then yeah take him back to the doctor and explain the situation. But on the other hand try reading to him or get him to listen to some soothing music and play with him. See if this works if not go see what is the source of his crying.

He feels awful. Have you given him tylenol? How about a cold/flu formula? (for babies, ONLY) A warm bath would be soothing, and help his body aches. Don't let him get chilled.
Benadryl would help him sleep. (again, the kind for babies)
Don't give him more than one type of cold med. Or tylenol with a product that already has it.
And, take a break. Even for just an hour.
Good luck. I hope he feels better.

All of my children did this when they were sick. They feel bad and don't know what to do to make it stop. You will just have to comfort him. When he gets to feeling better he will stop.
If he had a runny nose..that could have turned into an ear infection. You might want to check back in with the Dr just in case.

He's crying because that is his only way to communicate. We adults have learned to suffer silently, but you know how you feel with a toothache or a bad cold. Imagine when you can't understand anything ecept that it hurts. Poor baby. It is not a need to keep him quiet, that is selfish. You just have to put up with it until he is better unfortunately.

if your not happy with what your doctor said you could always go to another one for a second oppinion, babies develop differently and for some it is harder than others.
it could be a lot of things but your doctor would have told you if it were serious.
to be sure go to another doctor if your really woried, because i could say it was normal but im not a doctor and even then, no one knows your baby the way you do.
good luck i hope he's ok =)

If the doctor gave him antibiotics he could have a stomach ache. If he is taking cold medicine, it could be making him feel irritable or uneasy.
