I am on the birth control pill and have been taking it regularly but when my cycle of pills stops on the Saturday before I am supposed to get my period, I don't get my period until 3 days later on Wednesday. I am wondering if this delay in getting your period is normal or if I should talk to my doctor about changing when I start taking my pills. Any help with this?

That is normal! It always takes a couple of days after the last pill until your period starts...usually 2-4 days. I use the NuvaRing...I take it out on Friday and i get my . monday or tuesday...

there is a 0.001% percent chance of getting pregnant with the pill.
now if you take your pills religiously, dont worry when you get your period. some women get it right when they beginning the placebo pills, others take one or two days for it to start. dont stop taking the pill no matter what.
if this is something that happens every month for about three or four and you still find concern with it, tell your doctor.
also remember that normal stress levels when it is around the time of your period, will delay your period.
i was recently in a car accident (i am fine) the same week i was suppose to get my period, the incident was so dramatic to me emotionally i ended up delaying my period for two weeks.
its happens

One of these days it is going to stop on that Saturday night when you did what you did 2 weeks ago?..........then you know.

(Period stopped? I am not the guilty party, I did not do it. Don't look at me...........)

Seriously - it is a harmonal thing. There are no cut 'n dry answer. Everyone is different. If your period starts a couple of days late I would not be too concerned.

How long have you been on Birth Control. If not that long your cycle may still be trying to get regular. I don't think it is anything to worry about. I would start worrying if you didn't get it at all. Maybe bring it up to your gyno on your next visit if it has not corrected itself by then.
