My mum is going vietnam. Not sure to ask her to buy some wooden utensils back. I never use it before. Isn't there chemical finishing on the wooden eating utensils the may harm to the body?

I love using them. They natural and smooth in my hands, also they don't create much annoying sound. They'll surely bring you into the tropical trance while eating...

Wooden bowls and utensils and any wooden sorts for dining collect germs and bacteria much easier because of the fact that bacteria can collect in the gapes made by utensils and the natural wood.It does however looks kinda arty and funky sometimes.

no, theres nothing that can harm you i dont think by the wood, but the reason why i dont like using wooden utensils, and dishes, is because you have to be REALLY careful with them, you can not let them soak in the water , just quickly wash and rinse them, and they can not go in the dishwasher. my home ec. teacher taught me this, the reason why is because when soaking the wood in water, it opens up the wood some, and bacteria can set in there, and it cant come out. so thats why i dont like wooded dishes

Disadvantage: Some people think they harbor bacteria. I still love mine.

Advantage: They don't scratch non-stick pans.

it's impossible to get those wooden things clean. if they are coated it won't last long and then the cultures will start to grow.

advantages - you can get them in the same wood as your dining table.
disadvantages - they're really hard to see, if you do.
