At Target, in the Halloween section, they have boxes of large candy bars for $10. There are about 3 or 4 different kinds of candy in each box, and I think 30-40 bars. When I was a kid, the houses the handed out the big candy bars were always the best! However, I don't know how many trick or treaters you expect, so this may not be the most economical answer. If not, buy a couple bags of assorted candy, and tell the kids they can pick out their 2,3, or 4..... of their favorite candy.

mini candy bars, tootsie rolls, suckers... I might do individually wrapped packets of cheese-its and stuff as well as a mixture of candy this year... I think the time for homemade treats is long gone... sad really... we used to have an older lady make chocolate kiss cookies to hand out when I was a kid, they were yummy.

Just make sure it's something you, your family or someone you know likes (in case of leftovers and so you can sneak some while waiting for the kids LOL)

Chocolate is almost always a good bet. Hard candy can be a good option if someone is not able to have chocolate for some reason. And you can buy big bags of assorted chocolate and hard candies that is not too expensive. That is what I would do. Bags with many different options are ususally a good thing. Hope you find what you are looking for.

I have always stuck to easy to chew candy or crackers. I always fear little ones choking and I don't like the idea of buying candy bars for the big kids and then something easy to chew for little kids. It makes it seem unfair, especially if they come to your door in groups.

Last year, I handed out bags of "Goldfish" crackers and pretzels. Even the 10 - 12 year olds seemed thrilled at cheese crackers!

Anything already individaully wrapped for safety reasons. The mini-sized candies work best because the kids don't get the sugar shock from eatingthe regular- and king-sized pieces.

I like to get a few types- maybe 2 types of chocolate, a sugar candy (like skittles or airheads) and a healthy choice (nuts or raisins) and let the kids choose since kids all like different things. I only get a few of the healthy choice though- I refuse to push raisins on unsuspecting kids- it is only there if they choose it. Another idea- if you want to avoind the food, is to hand out pencils or notepads.

I like to make up the little treat bags with a variety of candy. It seems lots of kids have peanut allergies, so I generally try to avoid peanut butter, nuts. I like to give stuff like gum, lollipops, taffy, and every kid has to get a piece of chocolate...

Get sweet themed pretty for Halloween, in ghost shapes and so on or get a bag of mixed numerous candies - the Hershey's trick or take care of bag and so on. attempt to get in my opinion wrapped candies, in case the youngsters' moms and dads are extraordinary about allowing them to devour unwrapped stuff, and make particular it doesn't contain nuts or something else that youthful ones are regularly allergic to. i might want to have a tendency to furnish out sweet, because it is what Halloween ability to maximum youthful ones, yet in case you want to furnish out healthful treats having suggested that make particular they are in my opinion wrapped (no apples and so on) and no selfmade treats - little bags of pretzels or popcorn might want to be ok, or try path blend or granola bars with pumpkin seeds. you are able to also seem on the shop and be conscious if there are any Halloween themed crackers and so on accessible. :]
