Not Jack Daniels, but a homemade cough medicine that had another kind of whiskey in it.

When I was young if we had a could or a cough we were always given whiskey of some type not sure what it was

Haha, yeah, and when I was little my grandpa used to put brandy on my gums when I was teething...he said I stopped crying right away...hmm, maybe that's why I like to drink so much...

I have given my kids a thimble of wine before, and have rubbed whiskey on their gums when they were teething, but that's about it.
