How far along were you? For those who chose to find out. And if you did -- how many could not tell because of the babies position. I am getting my ultrasound next week and I will be four and a half months pregnant. Whoo Hoo--- I really hope we can tell
Thanks so much!

I was about 14 weeks when they first told us we were having a boy, and they were 90% sure...then it was confirmed when I was 20 weeks that it infact was a boy...so usually they tell you at your 20 week fetal scan (the big ultra sound where tehy check the baby's structure and oragsn and such).

Here's a tip that my doctor told me...about an hour before the ultrasound, drink some caffine (dont worry...SOME caffine is okay during pregnancy...just not all the time). Drink some soda or somethign and that little bit of caffine will make the baby wake up and be active, and move around more...giving you a better shot at seeing 'the goods'. I did this with the two ultrasounds where we were looking for gender (14 weeks and 20 weeks), and both times he was in there moving arund enough that we were able to see anythign we wanted to see. haha

Good luck and congrats!

With my first child it was 16 weeks and She was a girl 100% accurate... With my second it was 18 weeks and He was a boy 100% accurate... These two kids were bottoms up when my ultrasounds where done So there was no problem determining the sex... I'm 22 weeks pregnant now and my ultrasound is tomorrow I hope that this one is bottoms up, We really want to know what this one is going to be... Good Luck to you and Congratulations...

I believe I was around four months when I found out the sex of my baby boy who is two now. From the baby position I can really tell that the ultrasound was acurate. Good Luck!!!!!!

I was told at 19 weeks 2 days, I always thought it was a boy, I guess it is just a maternal instinct and they told me it is a boy so I am hoping that's what it is. I am having another ultrasound at 28 weeks to confirm so hopefully it will be accurate, I have already bought baby boy stuff, but if it turned out to be it is a girl I will love it the same way. My ultrasound technician told me to save all my receipts! LOL.

I think I found out like 16 weeks. It was a boy so it was easier to tell the sex. I hope that you will be able to see what sex it is too. Its so cool to see your baby in your belly for the first time even if you dont know the sex. I cryed when we first went! Congrats and good luck its a very special time!

Anywhere from 16-22 weeks is usually when women go to find out the sex. I am going next week and will be 20 weeks. Good Luck!

I had an ultrasound at 4 months and my baby was turned backwards, so they could not tell.
I was so upset because I was anxious and wanted to get everything either girlie or boyish.
I swore the whole time it was a boy, then I had the girl!
I love her to death, of course, but I am trying for my boy now and HOPEFULLY he will be facing the right way!

I found out "unofficially" at 14 weeks, the Ultrasound Technician told me she was 80% sure. But then i found out 100% at 20 weeks. Probably because its a boy, its usually easier to know.
