Don't call us the c-word!
Bob's playing is rough round the edges, his composing is among the best and he is a social commentator and poet of the highest order. Is Bob Dylan relevant to today's music consumers?, is today's music as relevant as Bob's I would say.

Wot u should ask is how relevant are the music consumers of today to bob dylan? and the answer is not very.... he's a legend, its just people choices of music have wrongly changed from music that had social meaning to sheep like bleeting of today!

Bob Dylan will always have a place in society and will always be relevant to those who choose to listen

i guess not very relevant because the majority of people today would rather listen to crappy generic music fit for the radio that sounds like so many other artist.
Personally i love Dylan his music is fantastic and his voice is so unique, i was a little disappointed at jazz fest because he didnt pick up the guitar once but ya know hes old now and looking a little frail so its aright and he made up for that with his new album which is actually pretty good

I don't know about his current songs, I haven't listened to them, but his classic songs will always be important and influential, even if their importance is perhaps overrated by his babyboomer fans. Even just now, from mainstream stuff like David Gray to people like Smog and alt-country artists his legacy remains. Even Pete Doherty's bhemian poet self-image is probably informed a lot by Dylan, whether he realises it or not.

pretty relevant. his songs get covered a lot, "like a rolling stone" was named the best song of all time by rolling stone magazine. he turned the general public on to folk rock.

as relevant as ever. his latest album was number one for a week on billboard. he is still revered as the greatest songwriter ever and 1997's time out of mind is one of the greatest albums ever made. "Make you feel my Love " was my wedding song.
