I have a six year old daughter whom I love dearly. He left us. Now, almost 7 years later, I am pregant, and very happy about it. I don't know if this guy will stick around or not. I am ok with either as i am 30+ and have a great life. I am pleased, although surprised to have another baby.

How should I tell grandparents? They are very old school and will ask all sorts of questions that will bring me down and ask about the dad. If they put guilt on me, i will get up and walk out. I was thinking an email. Let them absorb it and tell them I want to talk to them when they can be positive as this is good news.

What do you think?

First of all congratulations on ur being pregnant :) seems like ur too happy and I'd suggest just remain so, don't let anyone or anything bother u and ur baby, really it's not worth it. Thrive in ur happiness it's important and unnecessary stress isn't gonna b good to u or ur child now so I'd say don't worry bout the telling thing...I see it this way the grandparents have lived their life and ur living ur life it's ur destiny that u were left off by the first guy and now this new guy whoz fathered ur child is here so u can do one thing when u go to meet the parents take him along with u and if he talks to the parents they will feel some kind of security which, by what u've menioned seems to me like they have lost hope where ur married life is concerned...thus if ur guy can give u moral support while u go and tell the parents it'll b a very amazing thing, and more important thing will b that this new guy will in turn show that hez responsible person...I know u don't mind if this guy leaves, so, just so u can make sure, ask ur guy to come along with u to the parents and then u tell bout ur pregnancy to them and express how happy u r or exactly the feelings that u feel and the babys father will b a good moral booster for u while ur talking to the parents.

Email will show ur being very formal it doesn't show responsible behaviour and also indicates weakness on ur part, so better avoid that.

Face to face talk is always powerful and u see exactly how people are with u, look them in the eyes and tell them how happy u r for bearing this child they will feel ur happiness...please under any circumstance don't show the parents that ur not confident or that ur worried about their acceptance b sure first coz ur not a kid anymore ur a mother of a child and think how u expect ur child to behave with u when she comes to tell u her woes or joys...BEST LUCK CHEERS

Try not to use the expierence of the first time they may have grown different in there ways by now ,If not just wait until you feel comfortable stress is not what you need now in your pregnacy , I hope the guy does stick around if not as you already know it's totally his lose. congrats by the way you sound like a mom with a very good head on her shoulders.

email is what everyone wants to do these days, it is hip. But for the old school people out there it might be important to tell them in person. I would suggest ditting them down and just telling them everything. Then let them have a chance to ask questions. Just make sure you cover everything they might ask, then they won;t have much to say. Good luck

well, they would probably prefer it if you were married, but who knows....i think that it's not always a wise desicion to make children without a stable mother and father figure, but if you can do it, good for you! If you are worried that father #2 isn't going to stick around, that must be really scary, and how will this affect your other child as well? This will be very confusing as both children grow up. Asfar as telling yoour parents, don't do it in an e-mail, invite them to your house for brunch or something, allow them to see that you are happy and you would like their support!

good luck in love and in life!

Tell them in person. Let them see your face when you explain that you have made a mistake. They will probably love this child - he or she is innocent, after all. Of course they want to ask about the dad - and hopefully everyone will get tested for all kinds of STDs and the baby will be okay.

I feel that you are a grown woman who is not being taken care of by your grandparents. You need to just tell them both together and let them know what and how you feel about this baby. Right now you need to worry about the baby and you and not worry about anybody else's criticism because you have to live your life not theirs.

best way to break the news is telling them in person, they can either like the idea or not but they can't make any decisions for you, you are a grown woman, stand your grounds

Just tell them your pregnant and leave it at that... You are a grown woman. I'm pretty sure their not perfect and they should not make you feel bad
