you can use some mineral waters to make your babies formula but you do have to keep an eye on the sodium, we had to do this when we were abroad, i phoned sma and they told me the amount of sodium babies are allowed on a daily basis. contact you baby formula care line or speak to your health visitor and they'll be able to tell you

I was told not to make formula with mineral water for that reason and also read something that the minerals take away some of the nutrients in the formula. I just used boiled tap water to make formula.

Depends which mineral water. I bought some mineral water when we were abroad, and the baby was just fine. Having said that, the best is boiled.

i know EVERYBODY said no, but i used "celtic' brand mineral water ( we were in ramstein afb) for mixing formula right from birth, it had a really negligible sodium content and was certified safe for babies.Infact, i felt it a much safer option than using boiled tap water in germany, where the water is really hard. When we moved to US, my kid was four months old. i started using distilled water, because i really didnt like using the highly chlorinated municipal water supply. I didnt ever boil water, but if it makes you feel safer, i recommend you boil distilled water and use it.

no just use boiled tap water. You should limit the sodium intake to as little as possible. As far as i know the daily intake is 3g for children and less than that for babies and infants.

You shouldn't give your baby any added salt what so ever. Why not just mix the formula with boiled tap water?

You can get "nursery water", especially for babies, has floride in it. I don't know the cap on sodium, but I know you need to keep it low, absolutely no added salt on any food.

I have always been told and have read in several books that babies should not have bottled water, just boiled tap water.
