Seems a shame that it wasn't more popular so what do you think might have gone wrong?

I enjoyed the show immensely at first...it was a new Star Trek to keep me occupied since Voyager was over. I loved Tripp, especially, but eventually--and I hate to say this--Scott Bakula started to get on my last nerve! Not to mention they took way too many liberties on the technologies they had and the aliens they encountered. Half of this stuff wasn't there when Kirk finally got to the scene. It just wasn't believable to me. The storylines started getting really weird too...if you missed a week, then you might as well quit watching because you weren't going to get what was going on... That may have been just me, but that's why I quit watching it.

I liked it alot. It did have an interesting premise although, it tied their hands as to how much technology they could show. Even what alien races they could show because they would have to be around still to have Capt. Kirk's crew know about them.

The stories and cast were good though.
They had many ideas to try and picked pre-Kirk history. Looking back, perhaps not the wisest choice for history's best franchise.
Perhaps a time between Kirk and Picard or time travel series would have fared better.

It was hard to remember that Enterprise was the time prior to Captain Kirk's crew. It just wasn't as interesting as it's predecessors (Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager).

I do give it thumbs up for the intro song "Where My Heart Will Take Me" although I know there were mixed feelings about that too.

Seems to me they had are hard time keeping the technology plausible for the time it was depicted. They had already jumped so far ahead in the rest of Star Trek that they had a problem retrograding the technology. I liked the idea, I enjoy the performances, but it just never worked for me.

Old franchise. Not enough creativity. The second Star Trek introduced the Borg. Very cool!

I actually liked it better towards the last season.

They took a lot of chances with their writing, and came away with some really good episodes.

The Augments, the Klingon Augments, and Tripp's clone episodes are my top favs.

No, I never got around to it. I always saw Scott Bakula as Sam Beckett so it didn't work for me.
