Sounds like a speech class - Persuasive - why it is bad for government to legislate morality - what are the consequences? Would it lead to government observance in you home? Will it lead to unjust laws? Undue taxes on items that the government doesn't want you to buy, thus making the deterrent the price?

Do we own our body or does the government? Do we have the right to choose what goes into our body or is that for the government to decide.

Not only will this be a good talk - but it will get the listeners involved and might even challenge everyone in the class.

Best of Luck!

Yes! Talk about how so many children try to ask for answers to homework questions in Yahoo! Answers. Instead of opening up their books and studying, they just resort to asking the questions on here, often overlooking the "search" function that may already provide an answer to a similiar question asked.

Discussion points: What can be done to stop this, and how can we better teach our children so they don't succumb to taking the easy way out.

Well, if u don't want to be boring, don't talk about anything dealing with school, news or current events. do something about entertainment, such as..music, movies (only the latest) and how ppl feel about this stuff, orrrr u could go around and do a survey about movies. pick 5 movies that u think are good and go around and get opinions on them, and u can have "statistics" to share with the class while u talk about movies and how they affect us today, like are we obsessed with them and are being couch potatoes and all and stuff like that. email me or message me and let me know if u do something like that. chemicals_react2@yahoo.com!!

Usually anything current events that gets people worked up and starts a good debate is always a good topic. Try going onto different news websites and seeing what is really strring people up. Good luck.

I have public speaking, so i know where your comming from. Today i talked about funny cartoons and i showed a bunch of clips. Last week i told a funny story about when me and my friends got high and went on an adventure. Some kid talked about how to survive a zombie attack, i thought that was funny.

Good Luck

Dinosaurs, why? because everyone loves dinosaurs. You could talk about the recent discoveries of NEW dinosaurs and the many debates about how to classify them and the such. What do you say? you'll be the most popular student ever.

In college I had to make a speech. I invented 'Boge Natz', a Neanderthal inventor and gave a eulogy for him. First line, "Friends, we are gathered here today to pay homage to a great man, Boge Natz".

I listed many of his inventions: the wheel, fire, spear, art, religion, etc.

Try something like that.
