It depends on what sort of music you want to play, and whether you want to play lead or rythm.
Horse with no name is probably the easiest rythm piece to play as it's only two chords. Much folk style can be played with C, Am, F, G7.
Some of the really cool lead stuff you hear is fairly easy to play, like the bit from Smoke on the Water.
Listen, and try to recreate it. There are some good books to help learn, but the best way is with an experienced teacher.
