I tried to donate a mattress yesterday and they refused to accept it!
They said that it had too many urine and "love juice" stains!
So what? Some people have nothing to sleep on! Isn't that stained mattress better than nothing?

Thrifts stores turn away all kinds of stuff. Some stores just don't have the room for mattresses, and if they dont sell quick I can understand them not wanting it around. (Also bedbugs are going around, and anyone with bedbug experience are too careful about avoiding them.)

Food banks & soup kitchens are also surprisingly particular about what they take.

Apartment dwellers usually know to put usable stuff by the dumpster and not in it, so folks can grab it if they want it.

the thought of donating is great but think for a moment...just because you shop at a thrift store that does not mean that you have to "accept" those type of items yeah it's true some people do not have anything to sleep on but come on!

The hot, concrete sidewalks of hell would be more comfortable, but thanks for thinking of me.
