I use eye drops daily but still have red eyes again after a few hours. I don't wear contacts. Is there a food that helps??

Do you get sufficient sleep at night? Or do you suffer from allergies? Both are contributing factors. Or do you use mascara or eyeliner that could be irritating your eyes? There could be a number of reasons why your eyes are always red. See what areas that you need to make improvement in, I promise they will get better.
If they are extremely red, try seeing your optomologist just to be sure you don't have an eye condition.

See an opthalmologist, you may have an underlying condition that causes the redeyes.

Do you have any allergies? Are you currently taking any substances or drugs that can cause this? Are you constantly in an environment filled with smoke or other irritants? Do you have high blood pressure?

Also, you may not realize this, but constant use of certain types of anti-red eye drops can end up perpetuating the problem even making it worse than it was initially (It's called rebound irritation). (That's why on the label it warns you not to use it for an extended period of time without consulting a doctor)

You really should see an opthamologist to see what condition you have before it, possibly, damages your vision long-term.

In the meantime, cool cucumber slices or wet tea bags on the eyes for a few minutes can do a lot to refresh them.

Good luck!!

You might think that this is totally disgusting, but trust me it works. Urine clears your eyes. My mom used to get a wet baby pamper and put it to my eyes and in a few seconds the redness was gone. It works extremely well for pink eye.
