then the baby is 2 weeks along, right? If I am looking at one of those pregnancy week by week books, would I be checking out the 5th week or the fourth, since I just finished my 4th week. Or am I just starting my 4th week?

I am so flipping confused! If anybody could help me I would be so appreciative. My LMP was sept. 21 2006.

Congratulations! Your estimated due date is Thursday, June 28, 2007, which means you're in week 4 of your pregnancy. So start reading in week 4 and next week start 5th week. Congrats and Good Luck.

ok...count the weeks form your last period that you HAD...that is how far along your pregnancy is. The baby is 2 weeks YOUNGER than that.
So if you are 4 weeks from your last period, then you are '4 weeks pregnant', but the baby is only 2 weeks old.

For alot of reasons, mostly because it is almost impossible when a women ovulated after her period, the doctors use your last period that you HAD to begin your pregnancy on. So, technically, according to the docs, you are pregnant before you even conceive. Weird and confusing I know, but just go with it. :)

When women say "I am 10 weeks along", that means they are ten weeks pregnant (according to doctors)...and the baby is only 8 weeks old.

The reason that the baby is 2 week younger is because in a 'perfect world' a woman woudl ovulate 14 days/2 weeks after her period. So if you have your period, and 2 weeks later, ovulate...then THATS when you conceived...but since some women ovulate 14 days after, and some ovulate 9 days after, there is no sure way to tell...so the docs just use yorlast period date as the starting point.

There is a book, called "Your pregnancy week by week" that explains it well. It is a very cool book becausre it gives you pictures of the exact size of your baby each week (until obviously the baby is bigger than teh book..haha).

So you need to go by you last period that you HAD...not by the date of your missed period. So it almost sounds like you are farther along than you think. If your missed period was in sept...then I woudl assume your last period you HAD was abotu a month before that...so you are more like 8 weeks along...not 4.

Also, please make sure to get a doc appt ASAP. Find an OB/GYN and make an appt. they will check your levels and possibly do an ultrasound to confirm pregnany and the ultrasound at this early stage will help them to tell exactly how far along you really are (size of baby now is alot more accurate than size of baby later on...)
Good luck

The baby is in it's 4th week as well. Starting from the first day of your LMP, you count the weeks. i.e. your LMP began on 9/21, so on 9/28 the baby was 1 week.......etc.....

you are just now starting your fourth week...and yes, the baby's gestational age is two weeks but according to docs, you are in your fourth week of pregnancy. You can do a search on due date calculators and most will let you know how far along you are as well as your due date and when you conceived...

The baby would not be 2 weeks along if you are in your fourth week. It would be 4 weeks along so check the fourth or fifth week info.

if your last period was on 21st september and your cycle is regular of 28 days, your next period suppose to start on the 19th Oct. which is today. If you are not bleeding yet, you have to give 2-3 days waiting and if it doesn't come then go for pregnancy test. good luck!
