I believe in the theory "What goes around comes around".for real.If you had done anything wrong in your life even a simple lie to your friend or to a stranger some way or another it will strike back at you.
I will tell you what happened to my neighbour and its real.He happened to rape a young lady in his younger age in front of her mother.He and his friends tied up the girls parents and he raped the girl in front of her parents.He was 22 then.Now he is 75.What happened some month back was the old mans house was robbed by some people.He and his grand child Alicia(20) {name is imaginary} were in the house.The robbers tied the old man up and raped his grand daughter in front of him.The robbers were caught and sent to jail.
But the point is you cant be sure when all your bad deeds strikes back.You will have a punishment for your bad karmas.

In Karma idea, unhealthy karma can not be defeated by means of doing well karmas. The account for unhealthy karmas are separate. And the account of well karmas are separate. The results of karma can not be mitigated. It needs to be loved or suffered. There is a Sanskrit Sloka: "Avasyam anubhogthavyam kritham karma subha asubham; naa bhugtham ksheeyathe karma kalpa koti sathairapi". Meaning; We have got to suffer the results of our karmas, if it is well or unhealthy. No karma gets erased by means of doing different deeds. Sometime we must think that we aren't doing and that nature is bringing this type of situation to drive us to take a normal direction to adopt that motion. There is a announcing in Mahanarayana Upanishad: "Kamokarsheet Manyurakarsheet Namo Namah". It is an complex factor, which I don't desire to provide an explanation for right here. Those who realize can realize.

Most people don't even know what Karma is. Karma is cause and effect but, everything you think, say and do creates karma. This is a holy_ _ _ _ statement! EVERYTHING YOU THINK, SAY AND DO!? Keep that in mind the next time you want to create a negative cause. The Universe is watching...

I am a firm believer in Karma and have seen it in action time and time again.( In good ways and bad!) Always treat others how you want to be treated....someday it can help you or it could haunt you...
