I'm in exactly the same situation with my 10 1/2-month old daughter.

All our little friends born at the same time from my Mommy's group have between 3 and 8 teeth already!!

Her doctor said at 3 months that she was starting with signs of teething. About a hundred times since I've seen the outlines of what look like teeth on the back of her bottom gums and then they're gone again.

Every time she's acting a little weird, has rosy cheeks, starts refusing food, gnawing on toys, her fingers, me, whatever I think 'Okay, here we go!!' and then nothing happens...

Every baby IS different though. Lots of online articles and tons of other Mommy's I've talked to tell me this is common. The smartest thing another mommy (with 2 kids that both got their first teeth at around 12 months) said to me is that the longer they're not exposed the less time the baby teeth have to get cavities.

My baby's breastfed and doesn't drink much other than a bit of water a few times a day from a bottle. I never put her to bed with anything, but I guess this is certainly the truth anyway. (And it gives me something to say when everyone keeps asking where my daughter's teeth are!!!)

I'm not calling the doctor about it or anything, but I will mention it at her 12-month appointment if there's still no sign of teeth, and I'm sure the doctor will reaffirm what all those mommy's have been telling me all along. Every baby's different. All in good time.

Good luck!

Yes! I didn't constantly worry about it, cuz I know different things happen at different times for different kids, but you can't help but wonder right? My daughter was the same way, and the doctor said she had never met a kid who didn't get teeth. Eventually, around 14 months or so, my daughter finally started getting hers. She's 2 now (almost 27 months) and has a few more coming in right now, but it's definitely been a slow process. Sometimes she will have like three or four coming in at the same time, but it's been here and there ever since the first ones. So yeah, from hearing people on here, it's apparently more common than you'd think. However, anyone I talked to in real life never came across it. But I'm sure your son will get them, so try not to dwell on it. That's the only thing my daughter has been behind with.

I have 7 children and all my kids were very different. My 2 year old had all his teeth by 6 months and I never even saw them coming ! LOL - My 5 year old diddn't get any until 10 months and they were slow and painful coming in. You will be fine and so will he. I have a 2 year old who is not talking and dr says he will be fine, just stubborn, but all my others talked by 12 mths-18mths, so I know how you feel.

my boys both had teeth by 6 months...my daughter didnt even have a thought of a tooth in her mouth until she was 16 months! now at 19 months she has like 8 i think.

he is fine...you would be amazed what baby drool can break down! having no teeth wasnt going to stop my little girl from eating constantly!

My son was just over a year when he finally got a tooth. Our dentist confirmed that it was ok and that since his teeth were late coming in he would probably loose them late too. That is exactly what happened, didn't loose his 1st tooth till 1st grade when most other kids were loosing them in kindergarten.

It's normal for some children to cut teeth later than others. But you should still take your child for a check up to make sure there are no difficulties that you should be aware of

I was late with my teeth and some of my children were late. And 1 was very early. This will probably carry over as to when they start to lose their baby teeth as well. Toothless babies are adorable!
