In an interview, when asked how much you currently make, how do you respond without telling them?? I want them to decide on an appropriate salary without knowing what my current boss pays me.

You don't avoid it answer it. The position your applying for you should already know the market value rate of that position. this is where you go and do research and find out the rate for that positon is that your applying for.

You can respond by telling them what your salary requirements are. Instead of saying "I am currently making XXX" you can say "In this position, I expect to be making YYY."

Just tell them that your actual salary is irrelevant because you believe that the amount that you are presently making is under revision.

Say something like I make between $30,000 and $40,000 or between $18.00 per hour and $25 per hour. That way there is a range but you aren't giving the actual amount.

The rule is add about $7000 above what you are really getting paid.

you could mention how much is that you make a year, let say
you make $24 dollars per hour, you could just say $50.000/yr.
don't forget to include the overtime.
