well there is a big difference between stop lights and stop signs. At lights you are supposed to stay stopped until the red light turns green. If you are at a stop sign you are only supposed to stop until your car makes a complete halt check for traffic and proceed when it is your turn....you better be joking with this question because if you have been sitting at a stop sign for hours you need to have your license taken away.

Your weird... But since I am very bored I will answer your odd question. You only stay stoped at a stop sign long enough to look both ways and make sure that there is no one coming and you see that it is safe for you to go again.

Had some trouble with the driver's test did we? What was your tester's response when you continued to sit at a stop sign when it was clear?
As long as it takes to come to a complete stop and ensure that your way is clear.

well usually you stop at a stop sign for 7-9 seconds depending on the traffic

its 3 seconds. and you really should still look before you go.; 0 LOL or just wait till it s green, if you live where it rains allot and the sign is under a tree , you might get lucky quicker.

I think you have to wait until the stop sign says you can go.... it will probably be a green octagon with the words "go." I wouldnt advise you running the "stop sign," i think law enforcement is cracking down...
