Take the idea you have and start your own company screw giving it to someone else. It's totally legal if it is your idea.

I think the first answer is correct because it's going to be difficult to show how you would of thought of an idea about the work you're doing. If you had never had the job.

First thing is to write a detailed description of your idea, then mail it to yourself certified or registered mail. Save the reciept, don't open the envelope, and don't obscure the postmark date. This will establish a copy write of your ideas.

That's considered your intellectual property...if you signed some sort of contract when you were hired, look in it and see if there's a clause stating that they own intellectual property, if there is...consult a lawyer. If there's not, or you didn't sign a contract, you should be okay!
