When Toy Story first came out, it was good, and then we had an animated movie released about every 6 months, and they were pretty good, considering the genre. Now, we have like 1 or 2 a month being released to the point where I can't even tell them apart, and of them, only 1 or 2 are any good. Anyone else feel this way? Are computer animated movies becoming an oversaturated product?

Totally agree with you. It is not just computer animated either. Even the few hand drawn animated movies are getting to be bad too. I think ever since they made the new category at the Oscars for animated movies, filmmakers want to be sure there are enough movies to fill that category. Oh well, they are following in the footsteps of the rest of the movie industry, keep pumping out junk because people wouldn't know any better anyway. I think Walt Disney must rolling in his grave right now.

Toy Story will always be my fav and onle one to do it for me...it came out at a time when computer animations were at their earliest forms in terms of production. No other comp-ani does it better than Toy Story - has a lot of character and heart in the film.

Definitely, it's become more of a fad (like all the emo rock bands landing record deals), I think even Disney announced they aren't going to make an animated film again and are sticking to computer animated movies.... (I'm not sure about this though)

I'd have to agree with you. There was a more "heart" put into T.Story-I. Now, IMHO, everyone that got into the game is trying to pay for their hardware and they are using formula plots. The plastic look with the psychodelic surface colors is getting very tired.

And, it is my fear as they get better in true-life avitars, we'll see the end of the art of acting. Bollywood here we come. But we need another moniker for the animations ... Pollywood???

Yeah.

Follywood sees the money rolling in and wants to cash in on it, so they make a slew of REALLY bad, hurriedly made movies, and throw them out there.

Although, I do believe comic book live action movies should NOT be done, and that they should just follow the great example of the Incredibles.

yeah, Toy Story was the original and the best. it seems like all those movies are made about animals, except for The Incredibles, but that movie sucked.

But that's with every new thing, it's all the same.
Someone starts the trend, others follow. And suddenly the trend isn't a trend anymore, it's become usual.
