I not only agree with it, it's one of the basic tenets of my philosophy!
You are what you do. Every moment you define to yourself who you are. You do it by how you behave, you do it by what you say, and you do it by what you think.
You may fool other people into believing that you are a different person than what you are, but attempts to fool yourself are seldom successful. This has even been used by hostile groups to change people's definitions of who they are through cognitive dissonance: if you can be forced to behave in a way contrary to your beliefs, it will create stress until either your behaviour or your beliefs are changed.
This is why I follow Epicurus and define myself into a world of thought and happiness. This is why I try to expand my world by expanding my knowledge. And this is why I try and help other people by answering questions - because I want to live in a world where all questions are answered in the best possible way!
"You must BE the change you wish to see in the world."
- Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (emphasis added)

Thought is one ingredient in creating, there are other necessary ingredients to fill the mold in creating. We each chose our futures every day by the choices we make. Choices start with thought, feeling, visualization, awareness, and action. Feeling gives thought vitality. Visualization sets the future into motion on the higher planes. Awareness of consequences is wise. Be careful what you create and the consequences that are set in motion. And finally, action brings it into being on the physical plane. I consciously participate in creating my future with all of the above, and then ultimately surrender all to Divine Will. What future am I choosing? Love and going Home to God.

Thoughts well up into consciousness from the abyss. We can learn to quiet the mind, but we cannot control our thoughts. We can choose to select or reject specific thoughts and use these to make choices about our future. Yet even these choices originate from the same abyss and the perception of free will is suspect.

No, I do not think this statement to be true, yet my opinion is subjective as is the statement. A thought does not automatically dictate ones future, it is the action that puts the thought into play.

i'm sorry i can't answer this question at the moment, as it requires me to think in order to create my own future and i'm feeling kinda sleepy & zoned out
so, my future is currently ... need sleep (Zzzzz) ... then food ... then more sleep ...
However, when I am in the zone, I will create a marvellous future where everyone respects each other and shares their resources and so on ... and what a future that will be!

(Honestly) "I don't want to be like those idiots. I must become better than I am now. I cannot falter. I must not waiver. Success is the only option open to me."
