I think it may be the Fuel Sending Unit. What do I need and how do I fix the problem? What will it cost approximately?

It could be a loose wire.

It could be the fuel jostling around as you drive, it is a liquid you know. Mine goes down when I accelerate and up when I decelearate. It depends on how poorly they located the fuel level float.

You are probably correct. However, electrical issues can be expensive to 'guess' the problem. May be well worth your while to have it properly diagnosed. If it would indeed be the fuel tank sending unit, the part number is 5003959ac. $122 M.S.R.P.
Labor should be $100- $200 depending on labor rate, plus diagnosis

The float in the gas tank may get stuck or not floating correctly.
