Wait. The reports on the core duo are pretty compelling. Dramatic boost in performance on Mac systems, plus a lot less power useage/heat generation; all of which are critical on a laptop. Intel's marketing hype aside, the independant labs are pretty universal... the new chip is a big, big improvement. Worth the wait.

Macbooks have the core Duo but you might want to wait for the Core2 Duo which is supposed to be a better processor.

The Core 2 Duo, you mean, right? It will ship in December, from what I've read. Yes, I would wait. Just hang in there, it'll be well worth it. If I'm correct, I think the Core 2 Duos are 64-bit. I've read that the MacBooks WILL see the Core 2 Duo.

The MacBooks already use the Intel Core Duo processor. There is no reason to wait. In fact, it might be quite a while before MacBooks are changed.
