By your MIND based on your Fate Karma is the correct answer... however, for behaviorally trained individuals, they deny and ignore what Freud called the Id, and they think the brain is an absolute, therefore they would think that thinking can control anything.
Your MIND has developed patterns of response that are automated and usually supported by sufficient Delusional Thinking that one rarely notices them. That is, what happens outside of you and even actively repressed fears within the MINDs of others will impact your MIND and it will respond with some programmed response, and will rationalize this response with certain thoughts fed to your brain.

Well, using Freud's theory about the id, ego, and superego, I would have to say the ego. The id and superego make demands, but it is the ego that moderates between the two. I cannot ignore the desires of my id, nor can i always accept them. If you live by your superego, you have no desires for food, sex, or comfort...you care only about what is morally and ethically right. If you live by your id, you have no concept of right or wrong, rational or irrational. It is all about what you want. So, since I accept the desires of both, I am ruled by my ego.

You need to be the captain of your soul and use both to your advantage. I rule, sometimes more cohesively than I have a right to expect. Ego separates us from each other and denies our connnectedness. I have not made up my mind about the Id.

Only when I'm stressed out, the id. Then I'd be REALLY looking for pleasure to get me up. Usually my ego and my intellect balance everything out.

not sure, I haven't read much about the psychobabble stuff. When I do read it, I reserve the right to agree or disagree. I think Freud was sort half right. Maslow maybe 80%. Jung somewhere between.
