Yes, sounds perfect! There are many different things about you that gain weight when you are pregnant. When you gain weight, it is not really Fat that you are gaining. This is not 20 pounds of fat that you have just put on. When a woman is pregnant, her blood gets thicker and weighs more. Also the weight of the baby is a factor(6-9 pounds). And then there is the fluid around the baby(it weighs a lot). Placenta adds weight to you while you are pregnant, and there is the water weight that may or may not cause swelling in the fingers and ankles, etc.. Lots of different factors to add in when you gain weight while you are pregnant. I gained about 30 pounds with my pregnancy, and two weeks after the baby was born it was all gone. I was 200 pounds before pregnancy, then I was 236 pounds when I was 9 months pregnant, then 2 weeks after baby was born, I weighed 198. So I lost all that weight because it was not fat.

You also need to remember, that for every baby you have in your belly, you need to be consuming 300 extra calories a day. If you have one baby in there then you only need 300 extra calories a day, if you have twins in there then you need 600 extra calories, etc, etc..(so that is the normal 1500-2000 calories for mommy and 300 calories for baby, so you need to be consuming 1800-2300 calories a day while pregnant)

The rule of thumb is gaining an extra 25-35 pounds and anything after that will be harder to take off. I gained about 65 and sure enough the first 30 were gone in less than a month. I still have 25 to go.

I was told pregnancy is different for everyone. I think I heard/read that over 40 or 50 pounds is when the doctors start to worry about weight gain.

Towards the end of your pregnancy, you will begin to gain more per week.

Check out webmd's pregnancy section. It helped me out a lot when I was pregnant.

Sounds perfectly fine! Your doctor should be charting you and have given you a target range for your gain during pregnancy. But up to 35 lbs is considered completely average. Good Luck!

It's different for everyone. I only gained about 16-17 pounds during my entire pregnancy. Some people gain 50 pounds. If your doctor isn't worried, you shouldn't be.

Seems like you are doing just fine! I'm 31 weeks, but I've gained a little more than you (about 26 lbs) and my doctor said that I'm doing fine. So yep, sounds good!

Congrats and good luck :)
