I am almost 39 weeks pregnant. I am 1cm Dilated, 100%effaced, and soft. My baby has already dropped..has been that way for 4 weeks now. Last night I was having some contractions but nothing major, and today I feel very sick. I am sick to my stomach every time I try to eat and I havent had morning sickness throughout this entire pregnancy. I tried to eat and had to stop because I thought I would throw up, I have no energy all I want to do is sleep. My pelvic area aches! when I went to the bathroom because it felt as if I had to poop I tried and I felt so much pressure and pain in my vagina. My doc. showed my husband how to check my cervix at home (because all I have to do now is dilate, said it would be okay) Safely, with gloves and everything, and he checked and said he didnt feel as if anything had changed. Has anyone gotten so sick before they went into labor? And then finished dilating all the sudden? Should I call my doc. over this or just wait to see if I feel better?

i always get sick before i give birth, i was told its your bodies way of "clearing " out before the birth.
as for hubby checking how dilated you are i would get that double checked by a profesional just to be careful if hes wrong he may end up needing the gloves to deliver your baby!!!
the pressure you are feeling is probably babies head so if your waters go you may only be in labour a short time.

Good luck hunni

I would go to to the er.It sounds like labor to me.What kind of doctors give you husband instuction on how to check and see if your dilated. He isn't a trained professional and might not be able to tell if the baby is coming out or not. Go to the doctor.

Be safe. Call your doctor. If you are concerned, tell him you need to see him. Good luck. This too, will pass.
