i think it's because we are offsprings of england. kind of like two siblings that can't quite agree on anything. but generally, i like the canadian people, and consider them my brothers.

That's not all Canadians.....I wouldn't cross that border if there was a promise of a million dollars on the other side.No thanks not interested in going there.
I watch Canadian TV, movies, read Canadian books...
But I agree that we have become very Americanized much to my dismay.
Hollywood, NFL etc is all thrown in our faces...it's everywhere around us.
You could spend a life time vacationing in Canada and not explore all the awesome sites that are here. I don't know what is up with people. The US media is just trying to assimilate us
Maybe because we have become so Americanized people just don't think about it...

i dont find any of this true, i think ur just elaborating on ur own feelings. Canadians dont like the NFL they like the NHL! I personally love canadian movies, actors, tv, and music artists. I hate vactioning in the states cuz im afraid terrorist attacks will happen lol. But i do agree with you in the last one, i hate the americanization of canada, because we have far better things than the usa does, and thats why they are trying to get us to be more like them. We have free health care, we have mountains, trees, forest and we pride ourselves on being clean. Americans just use up resources like a parasite and move on.

I don't know.... I have relatives in Canada, and they don't seem to HATE the US, but they see some problems with it. Many from Quebec dislike it when Celine Dion sings in English, but that's a problem with the rest of Canada as well as the US. I've friends in Ontario, and they don't seem to hate the US, but are quite fed up with the war.
Canada has wonderful TV, and most SF fans loved the X-files. I'm wondering if the problem is more perceived than real.

I don't see that being the case. I know many Canadians, and most of them are very friendly and DON'T hate the U.S.
Making fun of other cultures is pretty normal-- my Canadian friends crack on U.S. culture and I rip on theirs. That's just a standard thing. Hating another culture, however, is a bit over the top if you want to be considered a reasonable person.
If you hate someone else's culture, then just don't go there and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't say HATE. EVERY culture thinks differently of one another, and yes, some do hate, but I wouldn't say Canada HATES America.
Who cares if we like NFL better than CFL. I think we have every right to enjoy something! That's almost like saying, a European can't like Hockey, he should be watching Soccer.

you see the Canadians have a relatively small army ....they do not need to build upon it. If someone were to attack the Canadians we would be the first there to protect them and our border....that is why they "tolerate" us....also as with our other not so friendly nations they think we're pompus....gee are they wrong...
