I have a Brother HL-2070N printer. It is connected to a wireless router. I can't figure out how to print. I'm able to print using a PC, but the printer doesn't even show up on the mac. I can't find it anywhere on the mac. I've installed the drivers, but it still isn't seen. Any ideas?

The particular router is responsible for making the printer compatible with the Mac system. For example, Apple makes a wireless connection point called Airport. Not all printers work with Airport. Check with the company that makes the router to see if it has the ability to share that particular model of Brother printer with a Mac.

Does your Mac see the Windows computer through the router or can it connect to the Internet through the router? If the Mac cannot make other network connections through the router, that would leave printing out of the picture, also. You would need to get either the router company to help with configuring the Mac-router connection or use the Apple discussions forum for third party (not Airport) wireless help.

But before you go too far with that, make sure the printer at least is configured correctly to work with the Mac WITHOUT connecting it to the wireless router. Connect the printer to the Mac. Open the Printer Setup Utility (name is Printer Center in OS 10.2 and older) that is located at hard drive / Applications / Utilities. Click on "Add printers..." under the the "Printers" menu at the top of your screen. Then choose the connection method for the printer, such as USB. Does the printer name appear? Next, click "Add". Try to print something. If that works fine, put everything back like it was with the rouiter and use Printer Setup Utility again to add the printer but this time, make the connection method "Bonjour" ("Rendezvous" for OS 10.2 or older). Does the printer name appear? Then click "Add". Now try to print.
