Well, some video games are educational, usually those that are aimed at younger players. Video games can also teach thinking and logic skills, as well as help youngsters develop motor control. Some can also help with such things as figuring out budgets. For example, on the Sims games, you are allotted a certain amount of money with which to build, furnish, and decorate a home, as well as plant flowers and trees in the yard. You have to do this as well as leave enough out for your Sims to survive on until they can find a job. Video games can be and are addictive, but it is the parents' responsibility to see to it that the child has other tasks and interests so that video game playing does not become a problem.

An escape from reality. Sometimes life bears down on people and it helps to go in your own little world. Video games helps with this escape. Some are educational, Assassin's Creed has a a lot of history dealing with the High Middle Ages, Renaissance, Revolutionary War. Technically anyone can find a reason why video games are not beneficial. I for one move a lot, and leave some good friends behind, gaming is how we all connect, no matter the state.

Well, video games simulate a world that some people actually dream about living in but could only do so in a virtual sense. It can relax you when you're stressed out. Having a bad day, well how about going to gun down 50 cops in Grand Theft Auto??? It's something you can do in a video game that you wouldn't actually do in real life

I made an attempt to join a rugby team (it did not last long). Anyway, the guys told me to get the game EA Rugby. It is the best way for an American to learn to rules and positions to a game that it not that common in the states. I guess it would work for other sports as well?
