I just recieved a ticket for going 40 in a 25. It was on a road with a meddian between traffic and occured around 11:00 at night.
I had just recieved a ticket earlier in the year that i deffered(ticket is dropped from record if you dont get a ticket within 1 year of that ticket) To keep this defferment going i need to get this ticket dropped. I am just wondering if I hired a lawyer if he would most likely be able to get the ticket dropped. Getting it reduced does nothing to improve my situtation. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You did the crime AND GOT CAUGHT. Out of luck especially where the other one is on your record.

Probably not. A lawyer is a waste of money in this case. I don't know of a legal way that a lawyer can get a ticket "dropped". What works for me is that I donate to the local police benefit fund that takes care of the families of officers killed in the line of duty. I plaster the sticker where the officer can see it when he walks up on my ride. Keep both hands on the wheel and be VERY polite. Of course law enforcement supposed to treat everybody equally, but hey, the cop knows I'm there for his kids if the worst happens. And it's a nice way of saying thanks. If the cop's wavering between a ticket and a warning, well, guess which way it's gonna go. As long as I wasn't doing something really stupid.

Find one who specializes in traffic cases like that and ask. That first conversation will be free anyway.

Lawyers have a lot of devious schemes like "Signs for speed limit were not clearly visible because tree branches hid them" or "that limit applies only in thickly settled areas and the neighborhood doesn't have enough houses to count as that" . Maybe they have some even-better ones that could help you. You probably should have gone to a lawyer on the first one because then you would not be in this bind for getting caught twice.

My thoughts are on this that you should stop speeding.. Pay the ticket. they do have classes you can go to in some states to take this off of your record. but you have to complete the class.
what is your big hurry at 11pm anyway.. you apparently don't care who you hurt.. go to court and pay your fine.. and if you can't slow down stay out of the car.

Sure, spend 1000. dollars on a lawyer to get a fine of a few hundred dropped. Makes sense to me.

seems less expensive to pay the ticket than hire a lawyer maybe cheaper even if you have to pay both tickets or take a class......also...stop with the lead foot might help

you know you're going to pay more for a lawyer than for both tickets combined, right?

the best idea is to stop driving like a stupid asshole.
