Dear Joni, don't listen to these classless fools, Puting pickle relish on potato salid is about the same as putting it on Ice cream, I would never do it...

I personally don't think putting pickle in potato salad ruins it.. I chop up a few dill pickle spears and add it to my salad i also add a half of a fresh jalepeno and my salad is popular with anyone who tastes it.. But Relish no thank u!!!!!

You absolutely do NOT ruin it, I wouldn't make potato salad any other way. The best relish to use is Farman's Dill, and lots of it!

No, I don't use sweet pickle relish.....I use dill pickle relish! Since my dad was a diabetic, we had to stay away from foods that contained sugar.... :o)

I use dill relish...it does not ruin it. I don't like the sweet relish though!

Use sweet relish. Dill relish would be awful!

good grief no!! I use the big, best maid pickles and cut them into big chunks. If you don't put too many, it really does give it a good flavor.

It depends on which kind you are making. Sometimes it's great, but sometimes it would ruin it - like when you make the kind that is served hot and has bacon and vinegar.
