I just went to drive my car and I put it in gear and it wouldn't move. I tried all gears and still wouldn't move. Is this something simple or is this a major problem?

There was no trans. fluid in the car.. it had been drained. I just added 2.5 liters of fluid. Does the car need to run awhile for the fluid to circulate or what? The transmission is suppose to be good

The transmission fluid was completely drained by the previous owner. He was in the process of changing all the fluids and didn't get to it... b/c I purchased the car

It could be something as simple as low fluid, check that first and if necessary get the leak fixed.
It could be a linkage problem, in that the lever isn't moving anything inside the transmission.
It is probably a death rattle and a serious issue.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

What do you mean it had drained? If you have a leak to that extent, you will ruin your tranny, itf you haven't already ruined it. Tranny fluid shouldn't go anywhere.
