John Kennedy was the only acception and religious figures such as Billy Grayham rallied other Protestant ministers behind him to vote against Kennedy in fear that the Pope would run the country.
What religious Hypocrisy.
If an Episcople person were elected would there be a fear of the Queen or Archbishop of Canterbury running the country?
No name calling please. Look at the Presidents from George Washington to the Present President and saying they were the best people for the job doesn't wash. Let the record speak for itself. Wasps are not always the best people for the job.

Well, take a step further back at the hypocrisy and greed at how this "great" nation was founded - on lies, by cheating and stealing an established people and culture who was already here! It started out with a bunch of crooks, and not much has changed since.

Non WASP presidents of the Republic of the United States of America

Martin Van Buren 1837-1841
Theodore Roosevelt 1901-1909
Franklin D. Roosevelt 1933-1945
Dwight D. Eisenhower 1953-1961
John F. Kennedy 1961-1963
Ronald Reagan 1981-1989

That's six different presidents by my count that don't meet the criteria of being a WASP and I made that determination just by their names alone. I'd have to do more research on the rest of them to find out if there was more.

Look, Protestantism is tied into the American experience so much because it is so closely linked to the classic liberal ideas upon which the entire nation is based. There is no common blood, culture, or language tying the United States together other than what has been borne out of its philosophical approach to the world of capitalism and liberal rights. It's a very Protestant world view. That's why it is such a dominant force and why it gets presidents elected.

All I have prescribe is if you want to change this, embrace rationality and engage in the discourse that true liberalism is supposed to thrive on. If you just get mad at "whitey" and build up a hatred towards him, all you're doing is making yourself worse than him. I say that because at least Whitey the WASP says he embraces Christian ideals even if he doesn't live up to them. All I've seen out of you so far is the hate. Be better than that and leave the anger behind....

I thought Colin Powell would have had a good chance if he would have run for president. Condoleeza Rice - possibly the first black and woman? Obama from Ilinois looks like he has a bright political future. As another said, Latino population growing quickly. I believe Attorney General is Hispanic.

WASPs accounted for a majority of the population. Usually you stick to what and who you know, so I guess Americans voted for them.

Blacks made significant change when they were granted the vote. It'll be interesting to see how Latinos change the vote now that they're the fastest growing segment of our society.

Why haven't we had a female president? They're not a minority, and since Suffrage, they've had equal rights. Margaret Thatcher, anyone, anyone?

1) The majority of the VOTING public are WASP so they elect one of their own.

2) Very few non WASP candidates can afford to go that far in the political process

3) Although women are not a minority, women don't vote for other women just because they are a women

Well, this country was started by pilgrims who came to this land to worship their God. The God of the Christians. It is no wonder that the majority of Americans claim to be Christian, or at least Christianized.

That being said, of course we vote in Christian presidents. They stand for our principles. our morals. our rights. Christians want Christians to lead them.

So, until the majority turns to Catholic, or something else, I would wager that the Christian man or woman will always win.

This is not a very hard question, however I think you need to wait till your at least 12, then sit down with your mommy or daddy and maybe they can explain why. Till then, just play your little video games and try hard in school. Oh and don't do drugs.
