To not be experiencing false contractions? The baby dropped into position last week. But I havent had any contractions. Everyone says ill know when they happen so, I dont believe Ive had any. As far as other things go, I can feel her every move and I have minor problems sleeping but what did you all feel at 35-36 weeks? and is it strange i havent had contractions?

Not unusual. You are just lucky.

I doubt you are simply not having them, just a lucky duck who isn't feeling them. Do you ever um, lean on a sink to wash your hands or bump the belly with a hand and it's rock hard even though you felt no difference until you touched it or leaned? That would be a contraction or braxton hicks. I bet if they hooked you up to a monitor at the doctor's, the machine would chart them. Also, I felt my daughter's every move too until about 38 1/2 weeks, then she turned LAZY on me. She wouldn't even move when she was stimulated with the buzzer thing during an ultrasound. She's a year old now and I am three months along again. Oh and sleeping, lol, well all I can say is get used to it. I really think it is nature's way of preparing you for the waking every 2 hours when the baby comes home, so it isn't a shock to the system. But good luck!

Not at all :) I didnt get any Braxton Hicks contractions (false contractions) until I was 37 weeks and 1 day (I was induced 3 days later) and I was measuring over 56 weeks. I thought it was strange that my body wasnt gearing up for labor especially since I was measuring way overdue (for one baby) Starting at 30 weeks I was going for Non Stress Tests 1-2x a week, even hooked up to the monitor I never had any contractions, false or otherwise.
No need to worry :) Every single woman and her pregnancy is different, some get 'em and some don't :)

Everyone is different. Some people never have Braxton-Hicks contractions, some have them all of the time. I'm 36 weeks and have been having them regularly (multiple times a day) since the beginning of my second trimester. They started half-way thru my 3rd trimester with my first baby. You may have been having mild ones and never noticed. It doesn't have to be painful to be a contraction. My belly would get really tight and hard. Now that I'm so far along they sort of make it hard to breath also.

You may be experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions, but not feeling them. They may not be very strong. Sometimes it just feels like you are having a lot of pressure on your pelvis, it doesn't necessarily hurt, so you ignore it. When you go into full blown labor you will know it. Or you may be like me. My water ended up tearing. I didn't have a gush of water, just a trickle. At first I thought I peed myself until it wouldn't stop. Then I went to the hospital and had to be induced. Honestly I was glad it happend like that. It wasn't dramatic at all, everyone was relaxed, I had a chance to make sure I had everythign done around the house, and everything packed before I went to the hospital.
How ever it happens, you'll be glad when you see the baby for the first time.
Congratulations, and good luck to you and your new family!

I didn't have any contractions like that either.

They may just be so minor that you don't feel them either.

Apprantly i was having them all the way until i was dialted to 5 and didn't even know it. I went for a reg check up and was at 5. Of course from there i went to the hosptial where i stilld din't feel them until i was at 7.

Same with my first...i didnt make it tothe hospital until i was at 8.

Some people have a higher tolerance for pain i guess.

if your belly ever gets real hard or feelsl ike the baby is stretching out in all different ways...that is a false contractions. It may just be a little uncomfortable liek you want baby to move.

As for the real contractions y9ou will know...even if you don't feel them to 8 when yoiu get ther eyou will.....KNOW

Not everyone feels the false contractions. I never felt the false contractions with either of my kids. My first was induced and I didn't really feel the real contractions until about an hour before she was born (even though I could see them on the monitor and I could kind of feel them) and with my second I didn't feel anything until after my water broke. I'd say it's normal for you. Good luck.

no it's not strange that you aren't having any contractions. i am 35 weeks and have only had a few braxton hick contractions but my baby has not dropped yet. don't worry, you will be having contractions before you know it. you may get lucky and not have them until your water breaks. i will probably be the same way. this is my first so he may even be a little late. hopefully not though cuz i can't take much more! lol!

Not at all. I didn't have any contractions with my first 2 children until I was in labor, not even Braxton Hicks. I did have Braxton Hicks with my 3rd, but they started around 36-37 weeks. They don't hurt, but they do feel like your tummy all of a sudden gets really hard. Just the body's way of getting ready for labor!

I had three kids and I never felt false contractions. When they broke my water for me is when I felt the first contraction. It is very normal not to feel them. Everyone is different so every pregnancy is different. Congratulations on the baby!
