You should see a doctor immediately,if you have not done so.I am sure you'll get proper attention and again a doctor can prescribe you with proper medication.
Don't smoke, don't drink too much and make sure you have a proper/ balance diet.If you really valued your life,so I suggest you should not take those sort of things for granted. You should take good care of your health.
If those are not the reasons for your bad cough, perhaps you should look at your surrounding.Maybe the atmosphere is not healthy or suitable for you.Maybe the place is too hazy, too gloomy, too dusty or perhaps to congested. In such condition, lack of oxygen always occurred and that's why it's hard for us to breath.
So I suggest that you should do some cleaning up and maybe you can bring in some potted green plants to decorate the place.Perhaps it can help improve the oxygen level, because green plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. They may help refresh the surrounding air.
Anyway I am not really an expert.Am only suggesting some ideas.I just want to help. That's all.
Hope you get well soon.

Oxygen is not your problem. Your cough and the difficulty breathing are your problem. See a doctor for the coughing, try some cough medicine, try some albuterol, get a pulmonary function test (spirometry, diffusion capacity, and lung volumes, pre and post bronchodilator) to assess your lung functions (if you have lousy insurance, then just start with the spirometry). Then work with your doctor on the coughing.
In the meantime, practice relaxation when your in distress. You're not going to die. You've had several "attacks" and survived them all. So learn how to relax when you're coughing and start to feel short of breath. Don't fight the cough so much and relax as much as possible when you're coughing.
If you have an existing disease that effects your oxygen level, then you might have a problem with oxygen, but in my experience, contrary to lay perception, oxygen levels are normal in spite of your distress from a coughing episode.

Why go outside? Don't understand - there is no more oxygen out there than there is inside. Marginally more maybe but not so as you'd notice. A few years ago when you went to your GP with asthma or a cough, he'd give you a woodbine. It does help, stimulates the bronchial tubes or something. Trouble is, it gives you lung cancer. Try salbutamol. Ask your GP for an inhaler
OR - take up underwater hockey.

Where I live, you can buy bottled oxygen water and oxygen mini-inhalers from any convenience store. But I really think that exercise is the best way!
I hope you find a way to relieve your cough.

If you don't have oxygen available, and most of us don't, deep breathing will help.
Breath in one breath as long as possible, then sniff in three more times. Exhale fully then blow out 3 more times. Do this 10 times. It helps expand your lungs and improve your oxygen supply.

Take deeper breaths and make sure you posture is good i.e. you are sitting up straight so that when you breathe in, you will take in more air than if you were slouching. The NHS website (link below) has some advice on breathlessness and other topics.
