Because children need an education. And most parents don't have the time, nor do they care, soooo.......they send their precious cargo to the educational institute and expect the teachers to fix all the wrongs they have instilled in the little ones brains. Intelligence is not inherent, it is a learned trait. It is a proven fact that people who go on to receive a 4 year degree at a University will make 40% more than those who do not.

My opinion; parents should home school their children OR send them to private schools. Government funded school is a joke! Little more than a bad babysitter. So unless it is a private school they are sending their children to, I'd have to guess it is because they were not prepared to have children and simply are not doing what is in the best interest of their child.

Good question. If I were a kid and my parents are pushing me to go toschool when all I want is to stay home, watch TV and play on the computer, Id have asked the question myself.
Now Im older and I ask the same question about work! Why do I send myself to work when all I want to do is stay home, watch TV and play on the computer?
Houston, we have a problem.

There is nothing with greater and more consistant value in this world than intelligence. School gives a person such a massive advantage in being able to progress in the world and be happy, the latter being the most important ideal to any parent.

In most cases it's to get them out of the house, because the parents have no competence in raising children and don't know what else to do with them.

Probably because it's illegal if you don't send your children to school. Oh, and it could also be because people want their children to be smart.

So the children can interact with other kids and learn. They dont want a kid who's in grown people business all day.

Because they don't have the choice
Because they want their children to be intelligent
Because they want their children to succeed
Because they want their children to have a good job and share their money

They don't want stuck with dumb kids for the rest of their lives. They want them to get a good education so they can move out and eventually have gradkids.
