Seems that way here in Chicago.
All the good jobs are taken by the college educated out here.
I may pass by a token few while I walk the streets of the loop
that are dressed for work with suits, etc.
I honestly see as many homeless black beggers in the south
loop here as I see blacks dressed in working suits.
Meanwhile, the city itself is 45% black, and the city black community finds itself pretty much out of the running for jobs.
The unemployment rate in the black neighborhoods and suburbs
approches 30-40%, and the working 60% are in primarily
gov't or quasi gov't jobs like the Post Ofice and the DMV
or unskilled laborer jobs, in which they compete in a losing battle
with the hispanic illegal aliens.
The foreclosure rate in our minority neighborhoods and suburbs
is astronomical, and the boarded-up look is everywhere.

SO what's up with the marginal status of the black race today?
They seem to be completely out of the game and loop.

Is the game over for them?

Sophist, my god, someone else noticed
as well!
What I mean by "noticed", is that things
are worse now than they have ever been
for blacks. Far far worse.
One, the factory jobs once available are
now automated or outsourced, and long gone.
Two, the unskilled jobs left are taken up largely by hispanics..roofers, carpenters,
tradesmen....all the semi-skilled stuff.
I personally live in the all black south suburbs of Chicago now, where I grew up.
My former school district has become insolvent, and the tax base has dwindled to nothing. The graduation rate for our local
community college is 5%. I kid you not.
There is NO future for these kids.
Why they can't even handle graduating
community college is beyond me, though.
I think they are so despondant about their
chances in life that they just give up any
hope or effort to better themselves.
.............................................................

IS there any hope for the black community
as a whole, or what?

Maybe it IS an intelligence thing after all.
You hate to think like that, but, at this
point, i have to admit I'm leaning that way.
Yeah, jobs are dwindling, but how can they possibly destroy every area they populate enmasse, and just move on to the next
solvent neighborhood like parasitical
gypsies?

Is there an end game in sight, or is the
black race shot?

MY final comment....in the world we now live in, you MUST get an education.
There is NO getting around that anymore.
The only problem with the black communities is that they try to get OVER
the system, but cheat themselves in the process. Once you are excluded from the system per the lack of education, you
are finished, and there is no getting OVER
the system.
Crime, drugs, and bull s h i t are not a
plausible way to make it in the SYSTEM,
even in a pure survival mode.

As an example, a 9-year-old on the south side was shot in the head through the wall
of his home as he was watching TV in his living room.

Again, getting OVER the system is not a solution now, if it ever was. Once you are completely excluded from the system,
it isn't possible to jive the system anymore.
All you are doing at that point is defecating in your own bed.

Roman, you make a lot of interesting
points. The most intriquing is that we
are debtors financially with the rest of the world, particularly Asia and Europe.
That's still macro.
I'm trying to find out why chronically
disadvantaged people can't survive in any
system, whether net debtor or creditor.
Let's face it, either you can hack it in
the modern world, or you can't.
If today's working world requires extensive
education and re-education, that's what it takes.
If you can't sit still to read a book or keep
still for a 50-minute class, and have never stepped foot in a library, this isn't the world
for you.
If you want to keep a distance from the "system" in an antagonistic way,
ripping stuff off, beating and raping your fellow brothers and sisters, so be it.

It's your bed. Lie on it. You made it

If you live 24/7 in BLAME mode, taking
no responsibility for yourself or your situation, so be it.

It's your bed. Lie on it. You made it.

As simple as that...........

JG, most excellent advice per the military option...remember, it can be a partial option
as well(reserves).
AND, it will be SAFER than the crib.....at least you are on a team, even if in a war zone. In the crib, there are no teams,
unless you call gangs teams, and it is all for none, none for all. You can be BAD in
the military too, so it isn't a coward's selling out option as well, plus you will get major respect from friends and relatives.
You better believe the head shot photo will be proudly displayed on the mantlepiece.

Last night, someone walked into our local
church during services, pulled out a pistol,
and robbed the entire congregation.

There has to be an answer......
Then again, maybe there is none, and they
will rape and kill until no one is left to rape and kill

Mrs. Smith, the worry is in their hands,
not ours. They are the ones that have to
live like that 24/7.
Also, the middle-class black community does absolutely NOTHING to supprt the underprivileged blacks. ZERO..........no investing in the community, no nothing.
The ONLY person I've ever heard of note that invested in the crib was magic Johnson with his theaters. If the rich and middle-class blacks are good with 55%
of the black male underclass either on probation, imprisoned, on parole, or wanted
by the law, why should the WHITES
worry about it?
Let them rape and kill each other, chase
the good people and business out of the communities they run down, and consume
every bottle of liquor, spare joint, and vial
of crack they can get their hands on.

Who really cares at this point? Even their
own kind wrote them off long ago.

So typical.
Excuses,excuses,excuses... waiting for somebody to knock on the door offering the best job offer ever!
Blaming others is not the solution.

for a very long time the blacks have been chopping off their own feet, and the black leaders have all blamed it on the white establishment. sadly, as you yourself mentioned that the city is forty percent black, so the black community should be thriving, within or without the system, ofcourse this community must need its own lawyers, doctors and engineers and teachers and business men, the coffe shop owners, the furniture store owners, etc. but are our kids in school, learning? no, they are sittign home in front of the tv watching BET, learning that the only thing the blakcs are good at is to be "screwing" eachother or killing or robbing while the white police are brutalising them and the system is keeping them down, while the mothers and dads are selling dope and "P- - - ", unless the black leadership andthe black churches, ( just like the white church and white leadership in this country should ) shout out loud and clear that there IS more to life than sleeping with eachother, that there IS a difference between a man and an animal, that education and hard work IS more important than how well you can shake your booty. that the survival of any race can not be dependent upon the hand out and the charity of another people, we are all , white or black, doomed to extinction, the same goes for our country to day that is living on the charity of other countries, yes, really, we could not ven finght a war because we need loans from the arabs and the chinese to live on , we need oil, to fight wars, hell we don't even make our own underwear in this country, in case we mess up the one we are wearing

Sounds like you could use some military recruiters up in those neighborhoods. There are plenty of opportunities for enlistment in the armed forces. I didn't have money for college, didn't have a plan for my future, and the military was the right way for me to go, along with most of the people that i work with who tell the same story. If they can hack it, they will have a strong base for their future, money for college, and a secure job until they find out what they wanna do with their life.

Plenty of jobs to go around if you are willing to leave your home. And in this case, in Chicago, where it is so bad, they should not mind leaving. Recruit Training Command is 45 minutes away of the city of Chicago. JOIN THE NAVY

Unfortunately, I don't think they have really ever been let into the game to start with. So, the kind of picture that you paint above is not surprising to me. However, given that most people think that the days of racial inequality are gone in this country, more people like you need to post statistics like this...

If so, then why is rap and hip hop so hugely popular?
Why do so many of us worship black athletes who are pampered millionaires for playing a child's game?
