Technically speaking, when does the evening become night?

Obviously morning becomes afternoon at midday, but midnight is the middle of the night - so when does it start? And when does afternoon become evening?

Here is yout technical answer.

It is officially night at EENT (End of Evening Nautical Twilight). This is when evening ends, and night begins. It is the precise time when the center of the disk of the sun is 12 degrees below the horizon. This is the time when you will get no light benefit from direct sunlight. You may only see a thin band of light on the horizon.

Afternoon becomes evening at 6pm, evening becomes night when it gets dark, unless it's wintertime, when it starts getting dark before 6pm, then there's no such thing as evening, it goes afternoon to night!!

I don't know if this is right or not, but I always think that it becomes evening as the sun goes down, and night when it is dark.

the afternnon becomes evening at 5.37pm and becomes night at about 10ish... welll thats what i think.... i wouldnt really call midnight midnight because lots of people stay awake till gone 12... heheh

I have always considered evening to be kind of between 5pm and 7pm.
