i would recommend that you self-publishing it. I self-published a book through http://www.lulu.com/
they are completely free and very easy to use. You can then buy a global distribution, or ISBN, which will put your book on Barnes and noble, borders, amazon.... i really like lulu, i think they are great. They also offer a great customer service if you get stuck.
If you think they are too good to be true (which was my original opinion) you can view my book at http://www.lulu.com/dchooper
Hope this helps. Good luck with your writing.
For any more information about Lulu you can contact me at forensic_dreamer@hotmail.com (if you do contact me, put Lulu in the subject line, or i might report as spam)
Cheers, Deanna.

Let your new book rest for a little while. In the mean time, keep writing. After you have taken a break of a few weeks from your novel, pick it up and read it all the way through. Edit anything that doesn't suit you.
Your next step is deciding what you want to do with the book. Do you hope to find a publishing company accepting new authors? There are a few out there, most require an agent, but not all. I did not have an agent represent me when I found a few publishing companies willing to view my manuscipt. Check out publishing companies on the Internet and be sure to read their specific requirements. Many will NOT accept any unsolicited work. Learn how to write a query letter and send it out to the publishing companies you feel might be interested in your book.
If you are interested only in publishing your work yourself, check out Lulu.com and see what they have to offer!
Good luck all the way. Being a published author has been a big milestone in my life!

This depends on YOU. Many writers plan and some can plan for years, and it can start from just a tiny thing from a boy and a scarf that can devlop into a 7 series book. Some wirters just make it up as they go along, and they don't do planning they just .. start, Some writers prefer to write it on the computer where as other write on paper. And then there is was genre and what the audience is. As a writer starting off i think you should think of the basic plot - the characters, the action, and all that kind of thing. And then write from that .. I hope this helps All the best with your book. BigH x

What is the title and subject of your book? Would it be a viable e-book?
My suggestion would be to publish it in .pdf format, and if possible, sell it over the web, especially if it is a "how to or self help book". That would give you some idea of the marketability, and with a track record of sales or downloads, can give an otherwise reluctant publisher a reason to take on your book.
Email me and we can discuss it further.
Good Luck

Put it away for a year at least.
Then re-read it.
Your most important decision will be: in the huge wasteland of new books, is my offering something the world can't do without?

One of my favorite authors, Stephanie Meyer, goes into detail about the steps she took to get published and who published her. You should check out her website, www.stephaniemeyer.com. And yes, that's how her name is spelled.
