Dilemmas: I wish I could afford the blue jean stuff but at $1.00 a sq. foot for R13, I'd have to double the amount for good attic insulation right? I don't want to mess with cellulose ,so I guess that leaves fiberglass. What's the best brand/type? Any other options? Thank you!!!!

the cellulose is easy. alot easier than fiberglass. there is no cutting, or fitting. i just did my attic with cellulose, and am now going to roll fiberglass over the top of that to get my r value up. i only put down about 6 inches of cellulose that gives about a r-25 value, but am going to roll out the unbacked fiber glass over the top of it.

Several other options.....1. "Blue Board" it usually has one side painted blue, anyway its a 4' x 8' sheet of styrofoam, you cut to fit of your rafters. R values vary with thickness.. Should be somewhere around R 5 per inch. 2. I'm having a total blank on the official name, but it was used by NASA. It's, for lack of better words, bubble packing with foil on both sides, depending on your application, R Value could be as high as 26? Most home improvement stores should have it in stock. It comes in a bundle or roll. Two different widths.
Good Luck.

FIBER GLASS OR ROCK-WOOL

THOSE FIBERGLASS CUBES WERE COOL, BUT MY INSULATION MAN SAYS NOT WORTH THE EXTRA COST.

ROCKWOOL STILL CHEAPER & MORE R VALUE ( NOT AS PRETTY)
WHITE FIBERGLASS NOT AS ITCHY

GROUND UP NEWSPAPER... HAD A BUDDY THAT HAD IT , THE ROACHES LIKE TO EAT IT!!!
