I am told this question is asked in this interview I am going into next month. Anyone have ways to answer this? I will make something up since this question just confuses me. Any input is helpful.

Well for one thing to bring up race or religion in a work place is illiegal along with sexual discrimination.

Just say you would refer that person to the law that it is illegal to talk about such things in the work place and if it continues you will go to your supervisor.

Life is a whole series of moral or ethical confrontations. Hardly a day goes by that all of us are not faced with moral or ethical delimmas. Most of us program ourselves to be moral and/or ethical and respond in a moral ethical way almost automatically.

The Bible says in Proverbs "as a man thinketh in his heart so is he". If you program your heart to think morally and ethical you will always respond morally and ethically.

We could discuss this topic for a year and never cover all the possibilities. I hope your interview goes well. I suggest you read Dr. Peck's book The Road less Traveled and Dr. Covey's book Seven Habits of Highly Successful people

Yes. I worked as a patrolman for a security company and was called to one of our exit locations because one of the workers was refusing to pass through a metal detector and he was not on the "Bypass" list. The worker called HIS boss and the door security person called our boss. The workers boss complained to our boss and then our boss started chewing out the door security person for not letting the man pass without going through the metal detector...

My co-worker started to cry as she felt that she had done the right thing...

I placed my badge and keys on the desk and told my boss that I quit, what he had done was wrong and he would not have the opportunity to do the same thing to me...

Later the guy that refused to go through the metal detector was found to be stealing computer chips inside of the tube in his artificial leg (about $800 each and he could fit about 50 in the leg each day).

Morals are how you behave. Ethics are why you behave that way. (I will not steal / Stealing is wrong because...)
My rule of thumb for ethics/morals: if you have any doubts, don't do it. If you're questioning the ethics or morals of what you're doing or planning to do- it's probably wrong.
