Seems like these schools should be more worried about all the overweight kids instead of banning any play that would result in weight loss.. A fat kid will have more health problems than one with a skinned knee...

I never considered tag brutal or cruel. If you don't appreciate the challenge you should not have to play the game. But you should find some good exercise that you enjoy so that you can deploy endorphins and help distract you momentarily from your routine boring challenges that we can't avoid. And may I add, help you stay fit. It will help you in the long run. Now, if a game does become hazardous more because of the players are too aggressive and abusive, then the school should consider halting the game until the abusive behavior issues can be resolved. More for each students safety. I don't believe its worth seriously getting hurt for a game. Just because you don't enjoy an activity does not mean it has to be banned for everyone else.

I completely agree with every answer...its only going to create a generation of weak kids that are afraid to get thier hands dirty. However, the American people are doing this to themselves. Everyone is becoming so sue happy these days I can understand that schools and anyone for that matter whould want to protect themselves. Granted some things are just way to rediculous. Liking banning tag....do people actually think that banning tag is going to keeps kids from running around at recess pushing and pulling eachother.....I love the fact that schools will that away any sport with a ball, but still have jungle jims that are 10-12 feet of the ground the kids can play on.....
What is really going on is The american people never want to take the blame....if a kid gets hurt playing tag, its the schools fault for letting him play. If a women spills coffee on her self and gets burned it McCdonalds fault becuase the "COFFEE" was hot and the cup did not say so.....NO one can admit they just had a clumsy moment, or their kid had stupid moment and tripped...things just happen, but people are more worried about getting money.....so I can understand schools and anyone else wanting to try and protect them selves...but thigns are starting to get out of hand.

Natural selection will win in the long run .The only reason we pass laws is to protect life and property .Not once have we passed a law that says for the common good of all men that each one should wack off at least once a week to reduce stress .
That sex will help you lose weight so gyms should support male female workout sessions .
I only see laws that prevent man from being what he is .
Saving these weak children from an early death is not going to benefit the species in the long run .
Doctors along with preachers are the true scourge of our time .
People just need to die when they become ill or are to unco-ordinated to run around without injury .
I myself wish that doctors had not saved me the 4 times now i can think of from dieing .
I have become cynical lazy and obese now and have out lived my use fullness .
I will not work for the government or people who do so people find me strange .When i say i will not build a stair case for any lawyers or paint in a lawyers home or office they say why .
Its because they are ash-holes and profit from misery and death .Writing wills recording divorces and controlling the system to there own benefit .
I find fault with everything these days and wished that 5 years ago or even ten that as my fever rose from infection that i had passed away .There was a reason for my abscessed tooth and the swelling and fever associated with it .
I was defective in that respect and that trait was not one that should be passed on to my offspring .
Natural selection .Let these stupid UN-coordinated kids get killed for all i care better now then several generations from now we are all like that kid from TV.(Irkle ) did i do that ,better yet did i realy say this .

This was my response:
This namby-pamby, weak, pathetic, next generation of kids is going to be watching out for me when I hit retirement??????????????
Massachusetts School Bans Tag Amid Fears of Injuries, Lawsuits.
"Officials at an elementary school south of Boston have banned kids from playing tag, touch football and any other unsupervised chase game during recess for fear they'll get hurt and hold the school liable.
Celeste D'Elia, said her son feels safer because of the rule. "I've witnessed enough near collisions," she said."
Your son feels safer?????? Why don't you just wrap the poor pathetic little pansy up in bubble wrap and be done with it. Cheese and Rice, what's next, kids that can't walk to school for fear their shoes might get scuffed??????

Dodge ball, stick ball, hand ball - hell anything with a ball. It's simply too dangerous for our frail little babies. Come to think of it - we shouldn't even have any athletic or recess programs at all. Just put all the children into a safe little permasealed bubble.
